Cultural, economic and biological diversity promotes resilience in the face of global change. Our experience in research and project implementation spans the gamut of diversity issues. We offer experience with analysis of the impacts of climate change and anthropogenic disturbances like logging, fragmentation, and forest fire on biodiversity. In support of social and economic diversity, we have worked with diverse agroforestry and natural systems and multi-use forest management as solutions to livelihood diversification for individuals, smallholders and communities alike. We can offer support to research and project planning for initiatives that support and evaluate these different aspects of diversity.

We focus on:

  • Research on the effects of disturbance (logging, fire, fragmentation) on biodiversity and carbon
  • Research on diversification of smallholder livelihood strategies including farms and forests
  • Planning for projects that promote diverse ecosystems and livelihoods
